Animal Disaster Preparedness and First Aid
August 30, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeJenny Wenk has been a Registered Veterinary Technician who worked in both private veterinary clinics and with East Bay Humane Society. She is a volunteer for Berkeley Animal Care Services and is the current Chair of the City’s Personnel Board. She has 3 totally adorable (most of the time) cats (as she describes them). She is a long time CERT volunteer, so you may know her from all her emergency prep activities.
Her presentation combines basic disaster prep for our animal companions with some simple first aid; she’ll also give some tips on dealing with wildlife. Her reason for developing this talk:
We love these animals. They are members of our families. We saw after Katrina that some people died rather than abandon their dogs or cats. I want to help as many people and animals as possible survive whatever Nature has in store for us.
We’ll be at our usual meeting place, the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (BFUU).
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the BFUU Fellowship Hall, corner of Cedar and Bonita. And per usual, we will have folks on hand beginning at 6 to answer questions and do some mentoring.
