DESCRIPTION:In-person gathering at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists Church (at the corner of Cedar and Bonita) \nThursday\, May 29th\, at 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. \nThere’ll be free drinks and appetizers\, plus some giveaways. \nCome meet Berkeley’s leaders in disaster preparedness. Representatives from the city’s mayor’s office\, city council\, fire department\, health department\, office of emergency services\, and CERT\, as well as folks with BDPNN and BeCERTAINN. \nWe’ll have brief introductions\, and then an opportunity to connect one on one\, ask questions of our guest speakers; and build relationships with others doing the important work of community-based disaster preparedness. \nCome hear about the proposed EMBER program\, CERT trainings\, and how we can step up locally as individuals\, neighborhoods\, communities at a time when support for federal programs are being cut.
